Deck 9

Monarfloor® Deck 9 system is designed to reduce sound transmission through concrete floors or existing timber floors in situations where finished floor height is critical.

Monarfloor Deck 9 consists of a layer of LRAC foam bonded to 9mm moisture resistant MDF.

When installed as part of a complete sound reduction system it enables a concrete or timber floor to meet the sound transmission regulations of Part E (see tables).

Specification

The acoustic insulant shall be:

Monarfloor Deck 9, manufactured by Icopal Ltd, Lyon Way, St Albans, Hertfordshire, AL4 0LB.

Install Monarfloor Deck 9 in accordance with relevant specification clauses and design details.

Installation

1. Fix Monarfloor Acoustic Flanking Band at the floor perimeter.
2. Lay Monarfloor Deck 9 over masonry (with levelling screed if required) or existing floor boards, in broken bond pattern, applying adhesive to all tongued and grooved panel joints.
3. Install skirting and trim off excess Flanking Band.
