Deck 18

Monarfloor® Deck 18 system is designed to reduce sound transmission through existing timber floors in situations where finished floor height is not critical.

Monarfloor Deck 18 consists of a layer of 8mm LRAC foam bonded to 18mm P5 V313 moisture resistant chipboard.

When installed as part of a complete sound reduction system it enables a timber floor to meet the sound transmission regulations of Part E (see table).

Specification

The acoustic insulant shall be:

Monarfloor Deck 18, manufactured by Icopal Ltd, Lyon Way, St Albans, Hertfordshire, AL4 0LB.

Install Monarfloor Deck 18 in accordance with relevant specification clauses and design details.

Installation

1. Fix Monarfloor Acoustic Flanking Band at the floor perimeter.
2. Lay Monarfloor Deck 18 over existing floor boards, in broken bond pattern, applying adhesive to all tongued and grooved panel joints.
3. Install skirting and trim off excess Flanking Band.
