Acoustic Batten

Monarfloor® Acoustic Batten system is designed to reduce sound transmission through a concrete deck or timber subfloor. Monarfloor Acoustic Batten consists of a layer of LRAC foam bonded to a softwood batten.

When installed as part of a complete sound reduction system it enables a concrete or timber floor to meet the sound transmission regulations of Part E (see tables).

Specification

The acoustic insulant shall be:

Installation
  1. Fix Monarfloor Acoustic Flanking Band at the floor perimeter, in accordance with installation instructions.
  2. Lay Monarfloor Acoustic Batten foam side down, at 400mm max. centres for 18mm chipboard flooring or 500mm max. centres for 22mm chipboard flooring.
  3. Apply Monarfloor adhesive to the top of Acoustic Batten and lay flooring, applying adhesive to all panel joints.
  4. Install skirting and trim off excess Flanking Band.
