The solution

The transmission of impact and airborne sounds through floors can be reduced by introducing a sound absorbing layer into the floor construction, typically a mineral wool or foam layer.

Research has shown that reconstituted foams, particularly LRAC, provide stability and have lower natural frequencies than traditional individual open or closed cell foams. This offers both stability of closed cell and resiliency of open cell in a single layer, which results in a balance of excellent impact-improvement characteristics.
