Acoustic Systems
Impact sound can travel vertically between flats via separating floors as well as load bearing and non-load bearing partitions and separating walls. To prevent flanking transmission the perimeter of the acoustic flooring must be isolated from walls and other vertical structures (for example, service ducts). Installing Monarfloor Flanking Band at all floor edges before the flooring is installed will ensure the flooring is isolated from the vertical structures by a minimum 5mm gap.

Where services penetrate the flooring allow a similar gap around the penetration and fill with an appropriate sealant.
